Group Of Thieves Target ATMs Across Oakland County

A group of thieves has been targeting ATMs in party stores across southern Oakland County.

Geroge Atchu got the call not long after the thieves knocked over his liquor store at Evergreen and 12 Mile just before 5 a.m. Thursday. In this case, they used a van and a chain to rip open the front doors and yank out the ATM bolted to the floor.

But the store's security camera caught their thieves in action.

"Most of them wore masks, and they had gloves on," Atchu said.

The gang of four is allegedly behind as many as 10 smash and grabs at party stores and liquor stores around Southfield and Farmington Hills.

Police issued an alert for the gray Ford van used in this latest heist.
