Grass Fires Shut Down Parts Of US-23 In Washtenaw And Monroe Counties

ANN ARBOR (AP) — Stretches of a southeastern Michigan freeway have been closed as firefighters worked to put out grass fires.

The Ann Arbor News reports that fires were reported Friday afternoon along U.S. 23 in Washtenaw and Monroe counties.

Traffic was blocked south of Ann Arbor in Washtenaw County.

The Monroe News reports that crews from multiple fire departments were fighting fires along the freeway in the Milan area.

Dundee police say smaller brush fires Friday near the state line with Ohio appeared to be under control.
