Grand Rapids Men Among 4 Lost Hikers Found In Washington State

LEAVENWORTH, Wash. (AP) — The Chelan County sheriff's office says four lost hikers have been located near Edwards Peak, southwest of Leavenworth. The hikers were attempting to hike through the Enchantments but got off trail and became lost on Thursday.

They called for help on Thursday night and dispatch used cell phone signals to locate them and sent in a deputy to escort them out of the woods on Friday.

They did not have any overnight gear with them but were able to find some shelter for the night. The sheriff's office says they were uninjured in the experience and escorted to place where a helicopter could fly them into Leavenworth, where they were met by a family members.

They were identified as 26-year-old Brian Keeley of Grand Rapids, Michigan, 27-year-old Anthony McAllister of Grand Rapids, 25-year-old Mary Keeley of Austin, Texas, and 28-year-old Joseph Smith of San Antonio, Texas.
