GOP, In Final Push, Says Michigan Growing Again
LANSING (AP) — Republican candidates are making their final case to voters before Tuesday's election on a 17-city bus tour across Michigan over three days.
A crowd of activists joined U.S. Senate candidate Terri Lynn Land, Attorney General Bill Schuette and other Republicans at their launch of a "Comeback State" trip Saturday in Lansing.
Schuette says the election provides a choice: returning to the "old Michigan" or continuing progress in the "new Michigan." Lt. Gov. Brian Calley says Michigan was at the bottom but is growing again under Gov. Rick Snyder.
President Barack Obama will campaign for Democrats Saturday in Detroit. Snyder, in a tight race with Mark Schauer, planned to join the GOP tour Saturday in western Michigan.
Schuette says Schauer and Senate candidate Gary Peters are "turn-back-the-clock" Democrats aligned with Obama.
