GM Foundation Announces Buick Achievers Scholarship Program

DETROIT (WWJ) - The General Motors Foundation says that applications are now being accepted for the 2015 Buick Achievers Scholarship program.

It offers scholarships of up to $25,000 to students seeking auto industry-related degrees in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM), or other eligible fields related to the automotive industry.

Last year, Michigan students were awarded $217,000.

It's the fifth year for the program. According to the GM Foundation special consideration is given to students who are female, minorities, first-generation college students, military veterans and military dependents.

Applications for 2015 scholarships are being accepted through 5 p.m. EST on Friday, Feb. 27.
