Girl Dies In Golf Cart Crash Near Grand Rapids

GAINES TOWNSHIP (AP/WWJ) — A 10-year-old girl has died after an off-road vehicle crashed and rolled in western Michigan.

The Kent County sheriff's department describes it as a golf cart-style vehicle. The girl and a 6-year-old boy were riding the vehicle Friday on a private driveway in Gaines Township, south of Grand Rapids.

The boy was taken to a Grand Rapids hospital. No names were released.

According to Mlive.com, the mother of the victims found the children trapped under the vehicle and contacted police. After being air-lifted, it was found that the boy suffered non-lethal head injuries.
