Gilberts Donate $15 Million To MSU To Help Breslin Project

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert and wife Jennifer are donating $15 million from the family's foundation to support renovations at Michigan State's basketball arena.

The school announced the donation Wednesday. The Gilberts are both Michigan State alums.

The additions to Michigan State's Breslin Center, which the school says will cost $20 million in all, include a new box office, the Tom Izzo Hall of History, an alumni locker room and other amenities for basketball players and coaches. The renovations also include a strength and conditioning facility named after Draymond Green after the former Michigan State star announced a $3.1 million donation last year.

The gift from the Gilberts also will support two Michigan State programs — the Detroit Scholars Program and the Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities.
