Get Fit At The Auto Show With The 'Auto Show Shuffle'

Not all the action surrounding the North American Auto Show is happening inside Cobo Center.

DETROIT (WWJ) All those great cars and trucks may get your motor racing, but the Governor's Council on Fitness wants to do it in a different way.

That's the idea behind the Second Annual Auto Show Shuffle happening before the show opens to the public Saturday morning.

Fitness Council member and enthusiast Lila Lazarus says the 5K run/walk is a great way to be active, even though it will be chilly!

"We know that Detroiters are good at getting people on wheels, we want Detroiters to be better on their onw two feet ... It isn't too cold, it's exciting! It's an adventure," Lazarus told WWJ's Sean Lee.

Everyone who does the Auto Show Shuffle gets a commemorative T-shirt, discount admission to the Auto Show and a special Auto Show Shuffle medal.

Proceeds will benefit physical activity and nutrition programs throughout the state.
