Gene Lamont Will Manage The Tigers Wednesday And Friday

The Detroit Tigers will have Gene Lamont as manager Wednesday and Friday while manager Brad Ausmus is dealing with what's being described as family matters.
Ausmus will not be managing after the death of his mother, according to reporters who were at the ballpark Wednesday morning.

He was already scheduled to miss Friday's game so he could attend his daughter's graduation. Lamont just managed the Tigers to a 7-2 victory over the Minnesota Twins on May 17.
Other notes that came out before Thursday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies is Ian Kinsler (illness) and Justin Upton (quad tightness) have been scratched.
