Garbage Hauler Leaves Mess On I-75 In Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) - The morning commute in Detroit is a mess -- literally.

A garbage hauler lost part of its load early Wednesday morning on southbound I-75 near Holbrook Avenue, leaving paper and cardboard scattered across the roadway.

Traffic tipster David said he's never seen a pile of garbage quite like this before.

"I saw this big pile of newspapers, it's probably about six feet long and six feet high, on the right shoulder and it's just -- one, it's an eyesore, and two, it's dangerous if somebody hits that," he said.

The truck has since left the scene but the garbage remains on the freeway, mainly along the right shoulder.

It's unclear how long the mess will remain on the freeway.

No injuries have been reported.
