What better way to start the year off than with a little bit of controversy?

By now you might have heard there was a call in the Lions and Cowboys Sunday evening that left a sour taste in the mouths of Lions fans.

Brandon Pettigrew went out for a pass on third and one. Initially this play had a flag throw against the Cowboys' Anthony Hitchens for pass interference.

After some discussion, the flag was picked up and no call would be made. People on Twitter instantly thought the fix was in -- maybe even a conspiracy.

The Philly Daily News thinks the same thing.

The cover of their paper this morning had the headline: "Grassy Knoll, now this."

The paper is making note of the JFK assassination that happened in Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas, and many, of course, believe there was a conspiracy there as well.

However, one changed the course of history and the other was a football game ... What do you think of this comparison?
