Freight Train Catches Fire In Oakland County

HOLLY (WWJ) - Authorities are investigating after a freight train caught fire in northern Oakland County Tuesday morning.

Michigan State Police said just before 6:30 a.m. that the fire was quickly extinguished on the CSX train, which stopped on the tracks in the Village of Holly. Other circumstances weren't immediately clear.

No one was injured, and police say there's no danger to residents.

E. Holly Road and Broad Street remain closed as authorities investigate the scene.
