Frankenmuth's Snow, Ice Carving Event Celebrates 25th Year

FRANKENMUTH, Mich. (AP) - Frankenmuth's annual snow and ice carving event is celebrating its 25th year.

Zehnder's Snowfest opens Wednesday and runs through Monday in the Bavarian-themed community about 75 miles northwest of Detroit.

The Saginaw News reports that visitors can enjoy competitive snow sculpting and ice carving, a children's area, entertainment, a warming tent, beer, food and more. Special events to mark the 25th anniversary include a fireworks display on Saturday.

There's no charge to view snow sculptures. Some activities such as carousel rides have a fee.
