Franco homers twice, Phillies Tie Tigers 6-6

CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) — Maikel Franco hit a pair of two-run homers off Jordan Zimmermann, giving him four in the eight spring training games he has played this year and helping the Philadelphia Phillies tie the Detroit Tigers 6-6 Thursday.

The 23-year-old hit 14 home runs in 80 games last year during his breakout rookie season, cut short by a wrist injury in August.

Philadelphia led 5-4 entering the ninth inning, but Ernesto Frieri gave up a sacrifice fly and a home run to consecutive batters.

Zimmermann allowed four runs and five hits in 3 2/3 innings. Philadelphia starter Aaron Nola gave up two runs and four hits in 2 2/3 innings with four strikeouts.
