Former Wayne County Mail Clerk Sentenced In Separate Sex Assault Cases

DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - A former mail clerk in the Wayne County Treasurer's office has been sentenced to 10 months to four years in prison after being convicted of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

The Wayne County prosecutor's office says Thursday that Dennis Patterson also must register as a sex offender.

In September 2015, a treasurer's employee reported that she was touched in an inappropriate way in their Detroit office. Prosecutors say a second female employee was touched inappropriately in April in a hallway.

Patterson was employed as a mail clerk with the Wayne County Treasurer's Office for approximately 16 years until June 20, just days after an investigation was launched.
