Former Wayne County Employee Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Colleagues Due In Court

DETROIT (WWJ) - A former Wayne County employee charged with multiple allegations of criminal sexual conduct involving three of his colleagues is due in court Wednesday.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said Dennis Patterson, 50, is accused of assaulting three county employees on separate instances in September 2015, April 2016 and June 2016. He's expected to appear in Westland's 18th District Court Wednesday for a probable cause hearing related to the June incident.

Patterson was employed as a mail clerk with the Wayne County Treasurer's Office for approximately 16 years until June 20, just days after an investigation was launched. He's currently being held on a $50,000 cash bond.

June 2016 Allegation in Westland

On June 18, Patterson was at the Nankin Mills area of Hines Park for a senior citizen event with other employees of the Treasurer's Office. It's alleged that while he was seated at a table in an information booth, he inappropriately touched a 45-year-old female co-worker. The incident was reported to the woman's supervisor.

For this charge, a probable cause hearing was set for Aug. 10 with a preliminary examination scheduled for Aug. 18.

April 2016 Allegation in Detroit

On April 20, Patterson was working in the Treasurer's Office, located at 400 Monroe Street in Detroit, when it's alleged that he touched a 44-year-old co-workers in an inappropriate way while she was walking down a hallway. The incident was reported to the woman's supervisor.

For this charge, a probable cause hearing was set for Aug. 12 with a preliminary examination scheduled for Aug. 16.

September 2015 Allegation in Detroit

In September, Patterson was working in the Treasurer's Office when he allegedly touched a 49-year-old co-worker in an inappropriate way while she was working in the office. The incident was reported to the woman's supervisor.

For this charge, a probable cause hearing was set for Aug. 12 with a preliminary examination scheduled for Aug. 16.
