CBS DETROIT - Former Michigan State Spartan Kyler Elsworth, the defensive MVP in the 2013 Rose Bowl, called out fans Saturday who left Spartan Stadium early as the Ohio State Buckeyes busted open the game.
The Spartans needed a win to keep their playoff hopes alive, but the Buckeyes ultimately won, 49-37. Elsworth took to Twitter to express his frustration with fans who took off early.
Our Michigan State student section pisses me off. Disrespectful! If you come to the game stay at the game. #HateOurStudentSection

I never blamed the fans for the loss, just stated a fact. You support your team no matter what, winning or losing, good or bad weather.

In support of his point, Elsworth retweeted a photo of the student section that was evidently taken during Michigan State's game against Nebraska earlier this season.

Later Elsworth attempted to clarify his remarks but stood by his original statement.
I said "HATE" not because Ive always hated. I hate when there not there, I hate seeing empty seats. I love seeing our students in the stands

Michigan State trailed by one touchdown at halftime, but Ohio State had extended its lead to 42-24 by early in the fourth quarter.
