Former Detroit Lions Coach Jim Schwartz Releases Statement About Calvin Johnson's Retirement

Former Detroit Lions head coach and current defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz released the following statement about Calvin Johnson's retirement.

"It was an honor to have coached Calvin and was certainly one of the highlights of my career. I have never seen a player dominate and take over a game more than him. His work ethic was unparalleled and it was inspiring to watch. Although he was one of the best players in the game, he came to work every day as if he was trying to make the team. But as great of a player as he was, I will always remember him for being a batter person and teammate."

"I will never forget handing him the game ball after he broke Jerry Rice's all-time single season receiving yards record. I wish him all the best in retirement and look forward seeing him one day in Canton."
