Former Bay City Times Building Sold For $500K To Local Buyer

BAY CITY, Mich. (AP) - The former Bay City Times building has been sold, and the new owner plans to redevelop it for retail and residential uses.

The Bay City Times reports Wednesday Rod Hildebrant bought the building for about $500,000. The Bay City-based Home and Hospice Advantage CEO says the next step is interviewing architects.

Development is being handled by Jenifer Acosta, Hildebrant's daughter and president of a Midland real estate development firm. She says they aim to preserve the two-story structure built in 1900 and later expanded.

The building has been unoccupied since the newspaper moved last year.

The Bay City Times is part of MLive Media Group, which has sold several buildings in recent years. They include the former homes of The Grand Rapids Press, Flint Journal and Saginaw News.
