Follow March Madness Through Apps, Social Media

SOUTHFIELD (CBS Detroit) - The Sweet 16 of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament is full swing, and while the games are taking place on the court, there are a number of apps to follow the action.

AT&T has aggregated some of the top apps to keep track of the remaining teams as the march to the Final Four.

The apps include:

  • March Madness Live!: Allows fans to watch tournament games live from a smart phone or tablet. The app is available for both iOS and Android devices.
  • NCAA Tickets: Fans heading to the games can use the NCAA Tickets App for Android to purchase tickets from their mobile devices. iOS users keep up-to-date on with scores and news on the NCAA Sports App.
  • CBS Sports: The app allows users to be personalize the for the users favorite teams and receive scores and stats. It is available on both iOS and Android devices.
  • Tournament Emojis: The Washington Post released a collection of NCAA tournament-inspired emojis.

Fans who can't get to a television, or can't watch the games on their mobile devices, can indiscreetly check Twitter for game updates.

According to a blog post, the most Tweeted game in the first round was the University of Alabama-Birmingham's upset of over Iowa State.

Michigan State plays at 10:07 p.m. Friday against Oklahoma.
