Fisherman Finds Human Leg In Grand River In Lansing

LANSING (AP) - Police have searched the Grand River in Lansing after a lower leg with a shoe was found by a fisherman.

The Ingham County medical examiner's office is investigating the leg. No information about an identity was released Friday as small crowds watched divers from both sides of the river.

In May, a woman's body was pulled from the Grand River, but her boyfriend, Manuel Pena, remains missing.

The Lansing State Journal says Josephina Betancourt's family was at the scene, wondering if the leg belonged to Pena.

Betancourt would have turned 39 Friday.
