Firefighters Rescue Woman Trapped In Burning Southfield Apartment

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - One woman was rushed to the hospital after an apartment fire, late Friday afternoon, in Southfield.

The Fire Marshall says firefighters found the woman in a closet in one of the apartments in the complex along Lahser south of 12 Mile Road. Her condition wasn't immediately known.

No additional injuries were reported but several units sustained damage.  WDIV-TV reported that firefighters were on the roof and balconies at the apartments appeared to have contained the blaze before 5 p.m.

The cause of the fire hasn't been determined.

Lahser Road was closed in the area due to the fire.
