Fire Tears Through Dearborn Heights Apartment Building

DEARBORN HEIGHTS (WWJ) - An apartment building in Dearborn Heights has gone up in flames.

The fire took off early Friday morning at the Carriage Hill Apartments on Westphal Street, in a neighborhood near Cherry Hill and John Daly roads.

Officials believe the fire started in the attic of a building that includes eight apartment units.

Everyone made it out safely and no injuries were reported.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area.
