Fire Destroys Two Homes In Detroit; No Injuries Reported

DETROIT (WWJ) - Two homes were destroyed overnight in Detroit after the blaze spread from one house to another.

Detroit firefighters say the fire broke out shortly before midnight in a home on Casmere Street -- near Mound Road and Mt. Elliott Street. The fire was large enough to spread to the neighboring house, which then also caught on fire.

No injuries were reported in either home.

At this time the cause of the fire is unknown. Officials are still investigating the incident.

Editor's note: WWJ Newsradio 950 earlier reported that the homes were located in Hamtramck. That was incorrect. Both were located in Detroit.
