Father Charged With Murder In Death Of 4-Year-Old Daughter

TAYLOR, Mich. (AP) - A 25-year-old Detroit-area man is charged in the 2015 slaying of his four-year-old daughter.

The Wayne County prosecutor's office says Monday that Demar Canada has been arraigned on felony murder and second-degree murder charges.

The girl was found unresponsive last May in Canada's home in Taylor, southwest of Detroit. She was pronounced dead at a hospital. A medical examiner determined she suffered severe head injuries.

Canada faces a March 14 probable cause conference and March 21 preliminary examination.

An attorney representing Canada was not listed Monday on court records.
