Fatal Shooting At Downriver Business Might Have Stemmed From Fight Over Woman

SOUTHGATE (WWJ) - One man is dead and another in under arrest after a shooting at a Downriver business that police say may have stemmed from a fight over a woman.

The incident unfolded around 12 a.m. Saturday at AJM Packaging on Reeck Road in Southgate, just north of I-75 and Northline Road.

The shooting took place inside the plant, but other circumstances weren't immediately released. It's also unclear if the men were employed at the business.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he died. The shooter was taken into custody at the scene.

Both men are said to be in their 20s. Names have not been released.

Southgate police say the investigation is still in its early stages. Additional details are expected to be released later Saturday.
