Farmington Hills Residents On Alert For Burglars

FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) - Police are telling residents in Farmington Hills to be on alert after a home invasion and attempted home invasion were reported in less than 24 hours.

The most recent incident happened around 3 a.m. Tuesday at a home in the area of Barbados and 11 Mile roads, just east of Orchard Lake Road. According to police, an unarmed man tried to break in through the back door, but was scared off by the homeowner.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late 30s or early 40s, about 6' tall and 210 pounds with spiked gray hair. He was wearing a dark-colored, varsity-style jacket, blue jeans and carrying a duffel bag.

The first incident happened during the day time Monday at a home in the area of Colgate Street and Grayfield Drive, near Middlebelt and 9 Mile roads. According to police, the suspect made entry into the home through a rear window. Other details surrounding this incident, including a suspect description, weren't immediately released.
