Extra, Extra! Read All About Bookstock 2014!

The CW50 Street team was on the hunt for a good read at the 12th annual Bookstock in Laurel Park Mall. Tons of readers came out to share their passion for books and pass that enthusiasm along to others. As CW50 Street Team members Megg and Jen searched for a good book, Megg found the help of young Michael Vrana. He and his little brother Anthony already had their bags full with books ready to read. Jen went a little more studious and was helped by local Mary Spencer who had over eighty cook books in her pile and still was looking to add more. She explains, "I love them all!"

Not only were there books from every genre present, but there were also DVDs, records and CDs available for purchase. Volunteers collected book and media donations all year round for the event noted Susan Schonenberger, co-chair of Bookstock. "It takes two moving vans to get all the books here." Honorary chair, Neal Rubin explains that this year's proceeds from the 2014 Bookstock event will go to supporting literacy and education projects in the community making the 2014 Bookstock something surely to write about.
