Detroit Casino Workers Vote To Go On Strike

DETROIT (WWJ) -- The three Detroit casinos -- MotorCity, Greektown and MGM Grand -- could be rolling snake eyes after thousands of workers voted on Monday night to authorize a strike.

Sources tell WWJ CityBeat reporter Vickie Thomas that workers voted 98 percent to go out on strike.

They will not be walking off the job right away. Contract negotiations are set to resume next Monday, following a week-long break in talks.

Healthcare benefits and wages appear to be the sticking points at the bargaining table.
