Tiger's manager Brad Ausmus believes big deals at the baseball Winter Meetings happen on the last day — and I would say that I have to agree with him.

Ausmus and the Tigers were up late on Wednesday night acquiring the likes of Yoenis Cespedes from the Red Sox and Alfredo Simon from the Reds. In fact, when the deals were finalized it was too early to even call the players involved.

"It went late into the night, it was to the point where by the time everything got worked out, it was too late to notify players; especially players that were on the East Coast because of the time difference," Ausmus said. "We were up late but it was worth it."

After the team made both trades official, Ausmus sat down with me to talk about his new team and how he intends on using both Cespedes and Simon. He also gave us some insight on when the trades went down and if he is surprised they acquired the players that they did.

Check out the video for all the details on the Tigers new players and how Ausmus felt about Rick Porcello who is now on the Red Sox.
