Ex-Nursing Home Manager Accused Of Embezzlement

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. (AP) - The former business manager at a nursing home in Oakland County is accused of stealing $460,000 from residents.

The state attorney general's office says it filed embezzlement charges against Tina Binkley. She was fired more than a year ago at Boulevard Health Center in Rochester Hills.

Binkley is accused of taking cash from accounts that held money deposited by residents. The 44-year-old Lapeer County woman is scheduled to appear in court Friday. Binkley didn't immediately return a phone call on Thursday seeking comment.

A criminal investigation began after the nursing home told regulators about problems with its books. The state says Boulevard Health Center has cooperated throughout the investigation.

There are 136 victims.
