ESPN's Chris Fowler Slams Notion That Network Is SEC-Biased

We've heard it for years: the national sports media loves the SEC.

Granted, an SEC school won nine of the 11 BCS Championships dating back to 1998. They even won seven in a row until Florida State came back to beat Auburn last season.

To add to the perception of an SEC bias, ESPN started the SEC Network which debuted this Fall. Well, College GameDay host Chris Fowler was having none of it on ESPN's program Saturday morning leading into a big day of NCAA football.

Fowler got upset when the idea came up that the selection committee for the new College Football Playoff might be biased toward taking an extra SEC team into the 4-team playoff just for the sake of having another SEC team.

"They think agendas are everywhere. They think ESPN is about agendas. They think that… we love the idea that all these teams from one little region control the balance of power at the moment in college football. That's great for the SEC, it's great for the SEC Network. It's great for CBS. It's not great for anyone who televises a bracket."
