Ending Hunger with a Simple Step

The CW50 Street Team walked to help end hunger in Southeast Michigan. This was the 34th Annual Hunger Walk and its first time at the Wisner Memorial Stadium in Pontiac. The Lighthouse of Oakland County is an organization which helps the people who are in need of basic necessities. They put the event together to create awareness about hunger and get donations from the walk's participants.

Rick David, the CEO of Lighthouse said, "Hunger remains an issue in Oakland County, Southeast Michigan and Michigan." He believes that they are part of the solution. Alan Carter, a volunteer of the event said, "It's great to be a part of a good cause."

The event not only allowed people to walk and run 5K but it also had food, games, and a bounce house for the kids. The Hunger Walk 2016 brought in families from all over Oakland County.
