Employment Summit Aimed At Boys, Young Men Coming To Detroit
DETROIT (AP) - An employment event aimed at boys and young men of color is coming to Detroit next week.
The My Brother's Keeper Alliance Pathways to Success summit will be held Nov. 14 at Cobo Center.
It will feature on-site job interviews, resume development services, mock interviews and legal advising. The summit is open to blacks, Hispanics and youth of other ethnicities.
Numerous local employers are expected to attend the summit.
The goal of the My Brother's Keeper Alliance is to help boys and young men overcome barriers to fulfilling their potential. Businesses, nonprofit organizations and local governments have joined the initiative.
The nonprofit also is working in Oakland, California; Newark, New Jersey; Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Memphis, Tennessee.
