Elderly Man Disappears After Walking Away From Detroit Group Home

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are asking the public for help in locating a 74-year-old man who has been missing since earlier this week.

Ronald Cooper was last seen between 6 and 7 p.m. on Monday, June 1, in the 19000 block of Strathmoor, in a west side neighborhood near 7 Mile Road and the Lodge Freeway.

Police say Cooper, who suffers from dementia, walked away from his residence at a group home and hasn't been seen or heard from since.

Cooper is described as an African American male about 5'5" tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a brown coat, white t-shirt, black pants and beige/gold gym shoes.

Anyone with information on Cooper's whereabouts is urged to contact police at 313-596-1240.
