Elderly Detroit Homeowner Shoots, Kills Home Invader

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Police say an elderly Detroit homeowner shot and killed a robber inside his home early Friday morning.

According to police, the 75-year old man heard noises inside his house -- on Lyndon Street near Grand River and Greenfield --and saw two young men in his kitchen. The man grabbed a gun and fired several shots.

One of the suspects was killed, while the other one was able to get away.

A police investigation is underway.

A report will be sent to the prosecutor's office to determine if any charges should be filed.
