Eastland Center Closed While Police Search For Shooter And Victim Of Altercation

HARPER WOODS (WWJ) -- Eastland Center is closed Sunday while Harper Woods Police search for both the victim and suspect in an early afternoon shooting.

It is believed the shooting started around 12 p.m. with a fight near Target. Sergeant Jason Hammerlee says officers are still in the mall looking for the injured man who ran into Macy's to get away from the shots being fired.

Hammerlee described those who fled the scene.

"There were three people who entered a vehicle. The shooter is a black male in his 20s wearing a white t-shirt and grey cargo pants," Hammerlee said. "He had the handgun in his waistband. They entered a grey Range Rover which was driven by a black female wearing a yellow t-shirt."
