DSO Presents Elaborate Marriage Of Music And Movies With Steven Spielberg

DETROIT (WWJ) - A marriage of music and movies put on stage for a rare performance with the DSO -- as Steven Spielberg and composer John Williams come to Orchestra Hall.

For many, reports WWJ's Kathryn Larson,  it was a spell-binding event:

"Probably will never happen again," said Sue Priester from South Carolina. "Let's put it that way, this was historic."

The ticket to the rare event was a gift from her son who lives in Detroit.

"I feel like I've relived parts of my life through this concert, major parts, even before my son, here, was born. Of course, I knew about Steven Spielberg and John Williams so the thrill is incomparable."

Along with Star Wars, there were a medley of Spielberg hits including;  Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, Jaws, and ET - they all lit up Orchestra Hall for the sold out performance to raise more than a million dollars for the DSO.
