Drunk Driver Kills Rochester Hills Grandmother In Head-On Collision

ROCHESTER HILLS (WWJ) -- A drunk driving accident in Rochester Hills claimed the life of a grandmother on Saturday morning.

Oakland County Sheriff investigators said that the 62-year-old woman was driving on Rochester Rd. north of Tienken Saturday morning when the driver of a pickup truck crossed the center line and crashed into her head-on.

The woman died at Crittendon Hospital. Her 10-year-old step-grandson who was in the car was taken to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital and is expected to be alright.

Investigators said that the truck driver was drunk. The 25-year-old Rochester man driving a Ford F-150 crossed over the center line and hit the grandmother's Saturn on Rochester Rd. near Mead.

The case will be sent to the Oakland County Prosecutor's office which will determine if any criminal charges will be filed.
