Dozens Of Dead Birds, Ducks Discovered Along Creek In Wayne County

WOODHAVEN (WWJ/AP) - Dozens of birds and ducks have died at a creek in suburban Detroit.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources picked up nearly 50 carcasses Friday to determine what happened along Marsh Creek in Woodhaven, according to a WXYZ-TV report.

Some residents are keeping kids and pets away from the creek.

Nancy Chinavere says it's "traumatic" to see dead ducks in such a beautiful setting.

"Floating ducks, ducks on land, ducks struggling, everywhere ducks, they were dead," she told the TV station.

The DNR said it could take a few weeks before they have any answers.
