Donations To Fund Burial For Baby Dead At Recycling Center

ROSEVILLE, Mich. (AP) - Donations are being made to fund the burial of a newborn boy whose body was found in a suburban Detroit recycling center.

Authorities are working to identify the boy, but morgue employees have named the child Henry Alexander Macomb, after Macomb County's namesake Gen. Alexander Macomb. Local businesses and community members are contributing a casket, headstone and cemetery plot.

Burial is planned at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township

Police are looking for clues to the child's identity in the Roscommon, Midland and Arenac county areas. The search focused there because of mail, newspapers and other material inside the recycling container in which the baby apparently was placed.

Investigators say the baby found Jan. 14 in Roseville was between 1 and 3 days old. Tips are being sought in the investigation.
