DNR Officer Finds Missing Woman Near Campground

MEREDITH, Mich. (AP) — A woman reported missing by her family has been found near a Gladwin County campground suffering from hypothermia and dehydration.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources says Saturday that a conservation officer searching for 46-year-old Elaine Goheen found her Friday about 50 yards off a trail in the Trout Lake State Forest Campground.

Goheen last was seen Wednesday. Family members reported her missing Thursday and her vehicle was found Friday morning at the campground near Meredith, northwest of Saginaw.

Relatives told conservation officer Mark Papineau that Goheen was "going to clear her head." Papineau found Goheen Friday while doing a foot search along a forest path. She was not wearing shoes or a jacket.

Temperatures dipped into the 30s Thursday night.
