Divers Recover 2 Of 3 Bodies Found Off Michigan Coast

CHASSELL, Mich. (AP) - Michigan State Police say the bodies of a 9-year-old boy and an adult reported missing two weeks ago when they did not return from a fishing trip have been recovered and the body of the boy's father has been located.

Police say two volunteer search and rescue organizations using sonar found the sunken boat about 12:45 p.m. Saturday and recovered the bodies of 9-year-old Ethan Chartre of Ishpeming and 61-year-old Keith Karvonen of Atlantic Mine.

The body of 43-year--old Steven Chartre has been located and divers plan to try to recover it Sunday. The bodies were recovered from Keweenaw Bay, off the coast of the Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

The Coast Guard previously has said a small craft advisory was in effect when the boat went missing Sept. 17.
