Disabled Man In Wheelchair Rescued From Burning Highland Park Home

HIGHLAND PARK (WWJ) A disabled man in a wheelchair was pulled from his burning home this morning in Highland Park.

WWJ's Vickie Thomas reported the home on Pilgrim Street had a wheelchair ramp.

The victim was apparently unable to get to it, and was pulled from the home by firefighters, who beat back the flames to rescue the man. "He was trapped in a wheelchair," Thomas reported.

The man's condition is unknown. The house is still standing, despite obvious damage.
