Did Tigers Pitcher Joe Nathan Tell Booing Crowd To "F--- Off"? [VIDEO]
Sometimes, actions really can speak louder than words.
Tigers closing pitcher Joe Nathan has been struggling as of late, with a 5.11 ERA this season. Fans have been pretty hard on the guy and last night, he seemed to give them a response without saying anything at all.
Nathan was on the mound in the ninth inning Wednesday night when he let two runners on base. The Tigers were leading the Pirates 8-4.
Fans decided to let Nathan know how they felt, hurling boos from every direction. Nathan apparently took notice of this and after the final out, he was caught on camera making a questionable gesture -- not once, but twice.
The "chin flick" is widely known as an equivalent of flipping the bird or telling someone to "f--- off."

97.1 The Ticket's Jeff Riger, who was in the clubhouse after the game, said reporters were unaware of Nathan's gesture because everyone was waiting in the tunnel for interviews and didn't see it -- which is why no one asked him about it after the game.
Riger said Nathan had "a stunned look on his face" that no one seemed to notice him taking a shot at the fans. We'll see what he has to say this morning during player interviews.
