Did DeAndre Levy Land A Cheap Shot On Giants Running Back? [VIDEO]

DeAndre Levy is as outspoken as any NFL player when it comes to the dangers of concussions and CTE.
Which doesn't jibe well with his decision to shove Rashad Jenning's head into the ground following a gang tackle in the Lions' loss to the Giants on Sunday.
Was this a cheap shot by Levy pushing Jennings head into the ground? Or is it just football? #lions #levy pic.twitter.com/BcnRImgNoK

Defenders of Levy might say he was just pushing himself back to his feet. But it certainly looks like he made a conscious decision to take an extra shot at Jennings' head. And judging by the reaction of Jennings' teammate Weston Richburg (No. 70), it was more than a typical football play.
It's highly unlikely that this play warrants any kind of discipline. And this sort of post-whistle activity is part of the culture of the sport. (Think about all the things that happen beneath piles and along the line of scrimmage that aren't captured by cameras.)
Still, for a guy who's been such a proponent of a player safety, it isn't a good look.
