Detroit To Hold Job Fair; Seeking 40-60 Bus Drivers

DETROIT (AP) — A job fair is scheduled in Detroit to fill city bus driver positions.

The Detroit Department of Transportation says it is looking to hire 40 to 60 drivers.

The job fair is scheduled from 1-6 p.m. Monday at the Butzel Family Recreation Center on the city's eastside.

Applicants must have valid driver's licenses and must be able to obtain a Michigan Commercial Driver's License with group A or B designation and passenger and air brake endorsements.

Transportation Director Dan Dirks says that filling the positions is part of the city's efforts to improve bus service for riders.

The starting wage for Detroit bus drivers is between $12.07 and $17.23 per hour.
