Detroit To Hold Emergency Response Training Exercise

DETROIT (AP) -- City officials are planning an emergency response training exercise on Detroit's east side.

The exercise will be held Monday at the Mt. Elliott rail yard and include a mock evacuation of volunteers from several nearby streets to an area shelter.

The city says no residents will be evacuated.

Officials will evaluate Detroit's emergency response in communications, incident command, mass evacuation, hazardous material mitigation and activation of the Emergency Response Center.
