Detroit Titans Hungry For Oakland Grizzlies In Homecoming Face-Off

University of Detroit Mercy Head Basketball Coach Ray McCallum talked to 97.1 The Ticket's Dan Leach ahead of Saturday's Homecoming game, when the Titans take on the Oakland Grizzlies at Calihan Hall.

"We're really excited," he said. "It's great to have this kind of attention on our program and for the Detroit area. It's a conference game, at home. If you want to be a player in a rising league, upper division, then you've got to defend your home court. So, it starts with that with us," he said.

A crowd of over 6,000 is expected and fans are encouraged to wear red for a "red out." McCallum said the team has been waiting all season for this moment.

"It's an important game, it's a Horizon League game, and the thing I'm excited about is our players deserve to have a great crowd like we're going to have tonight. It's great interest, it's going to be a very competitive game," he said. "We've been in a lot of environments on the road like we're going to have tonight and, you know, we've got to handle the big stage now."
