Detroit Tigers Say Injured Fan Released From Hospital

DETROIT (AP) — The Detroit Tigers say the fan who was hit by a foul ball in Friday night's game was released from the hospital Saturday.

A team spokesman said before Saturday night's game against Texas that the Tigers were still trying to get in touch with the woman, who was hit by a line drive off the bat of Anthony Gose. The game was delayed for several minutes before she was taken to the hospital.

Several players have said since then that baseball needs to make changes at ballparks to keep fans safer.

Earlier this season, a Massachusetts woman was seriously injured when a broken bat flew into the stands at Fenway Park and struck her in the head.
